Honda inclui Bluetooth na lista de opcionais

A Honda irá disponibilizar, pela primeira vez em Portugal, um Sistema de Comunicação Bluetooth, ainda que como opcional ao equipamento de série.

Este sistema de comunicação, com um preço de 193,42 euros (instalação e IVA não incluídos), foi concebido no sentido de proporcionar aos utilizadores uma condução segura, tendo como principais potencialidades, permitir a selecção das chamadas e ser compatível com uma vasta gama de telemóveis Bluetooth.

Nova série de matrículas prevista para este trimestre

As novas chapas de matrícula, com letras ao meio, estão prestes a chegar às estradas nacionais. Segundo o Jornal de Notícias, a actual série de matrículas (com as letras à direita) está quase a esgotar-se, prevendo-se que até ao final deste trimestre circulem automóveis com o novo ordenamento de números e letras.

Por enquanto, nem a Associação de Comércio Automóvel de Portugal nem a Direcção-Geral de Viação adiantam a data de chegada da nova série. Tudo depende da evolução do mercado de veículos automóveis.

Korn: ex-guitarrista baptizado

O ex-guitarrista dos Korn Brian Welch, que abandonou recentemente a banda ao fim de 13 anos, para se dedicar ao cristianismo, foi baptizado no passado sábado, 5 de Março. A efeméride teve lugar no Rio Jordão, em Israel, e além do antigo músico, foram baptizados mais vinte novos discípulos.

Consumado o acto, Welch afirmou que sente uma grande diferença entre o anterior estilo de vida e o actual. Antes sentia que magoava as pessoas, agora está capaz de abraçar toda a gente, garantiu Welch.

System of a Down: "Mesmerize" em Maio

A primeira parte do duplo álbum dos System of a Down, "Mezmerise/Hypnotise", chega às lojas no próximo dia 17 de Maio.

"Mesmerize" é antecedido pelo single de estreia 'B.Y.O.B', cujas iniciais significam 'Bring Your Own Bombs'. À semelhança do que acontece no tema 'Boom', de 2002, o novo single questiona os actuais líderes norte-americanos.

A razão para lançar o novo álbum separadamente é permitir que os fãs absorvam a primeira parte, antes de se dedicarem à segunda, "Hypnotise", que será editado na Primavera.

O último álbum dos System of a Down vendeu cerca de 6 milhões de cópias em 2001 e extraiu quatro singles de sucesso.

Slayer, Incubus e Mastodon no Festival Super Bock

SLAYER, Mastodon, Incubus, Moby, Broken Social Scene e Turbonegro são os novos nomes anunciados hoje para o 11º festival Super Bock Super Rock, no Parque Tejo.

Os artistas juntam-se, assim, aos já confirmados System of a Down, Prodigy, Iggy Pop & the Stooges, Audioslave, Marilyn Manson e The Hives.

A 11ª edição do Festival Super Bock Super Rock decorre entre os dias 27 e 29 de Maio no Parque Tejo, junto ao Parque das Nações, no concelho de Loures, num recinto de 300 mil metros quadrados.

Em 2004, o evento contou com a presença de artistas como Pixies, Massive Attack, Nelly Furtado, Korn e Linkin Park, no palco principal. O palco secundário foi exclusivamente dedicado a artistas portugueses, como Loosers, Pluto e Wray Gunn.

Este ano, o cartaz (até agora confirmado) é o seguinte:

U2: Bilhetes na FNAC esgotam numa hora

Esgotaram no espaço de uma hora os seis mil bilhetes para o concerto dos U2, colocados à venda nas sete lojas FNAC em Portugal.

Em declarações à agência Lusa, o director comercial da FNAC, Viriato Filipe, confirmou que as bilheteiras abriram às 10h00 e pelas 11h00 já não havia entradas disponíveis.
«Estamos já a avisar as pessoas que continuam nas filas de que não vale a pena esperar mais e pedimos a todos para que não se dirijam à FNAC para comprar bilhetes para o concerto porque, infelizmente, não vamos ter mais bilhetes para o espectáculo», avisa Viriato Filipe.

Aos fãs dos U2, que acamparam em grande número à porta das lojas FNAC e da agência ABEP, nos Restauradores, resta agora tentar a sorte no estádio Alvalade XXI (se forem sócios do Sporting e detentores de lugar especial no recinto), em dez postos da BP, a partir de 1 de Março, ou já hoje, das 14h00 em diante, na rede de caixas automáticas Multibanco.

O concerto dos U2 em Alvalade acontece a 14 de Agosto. Os bilhetes variam entre os 54€ e os 146€.

Police Identify Alleged Gunman In DIMEBAG DARRELL's Murder - Dec. 9, 2004

Police released the name of the gunman who allegedly went on a shooting rampage at a Columbus nightclub Wednesday night, killing four people — including DAMAGAEPLAN guitarist Dimebag Darrel — before a police officer shot him dead.

Nathan Gale, 25, of Marysville, reportedly jumped onto a concert stage and opened fire, NBC 4 reported.

The shooting took place shortly after 10 p.m. at Alrosa Villa, located at 5055 Sinclair Rd.

A crowd of about 250 people was inside for a concert by DAMAGEPLAN, a heavy metal band. Two former members of the band PANTERA formed the group.

The band took the stage shortly after 10 p.m., and minutes later, a man, who was wearing a hockey jersey and hooded sweatshirt, began firing at point-blank range at least four times at guitarist Dimebag Darrell, NBC 4's Kyle Anderson reported.

Darrell Abbott, who was known as "Dimebag Darrell", was pronounced dead at the scene, NBC 4's Kyle Anderson reported. Police released the names of two others who died. They were Nathan Bray and Erin Halk, both audience members.

"(The gunman) came on stage, from the back, like he knew what he was doing and went straight to Dimebag Darrell immediately," an unidentified witness said.

"Gale reportedly shot and killed another member of the band before firing shots into the crowd.

Columbus police were flooded with 911 calls from concertgoers right after the shooting. Some witnesses said Gale took a person hostage. Minutes later, a Columbus police Officer James D. Niggemeyer entered the nightclub and shot and killed Gale, police said.

Police did not identify the other person who died at the scene.

Authorities spent hours questioning audience members.

As calls for help came in, dozens of police and EMS crews were dispatched to the scene.

Emergency room workers at Riverside Methodist Hospital were told to watch out for people who would ask for care on Thursday. Police said that about 100 people left the Alrosa Villa before officers got the scene under control.

Two people who were shot were transported by ambulance to Riverside. Their names were not released and hospital officials would not comment about their conditions.

Columbus police and firefighters set up a triage outside the nightclub to treat anyone with minor injuries, NBC 4 reported.

Many people who were injured during the shooting spree and in the chaos that followed were put on buses and treated for injuries at the scene, NBC 4 reported.

DAMAGEPLAN Shooting Update: VINNIE PAUL Uninjured; Metal Musicians Mourn DIMEBAG's Passing - Dec. 9, 2004

Scoop of the Columbus, Ohio radio station The Blitz 99.7 FM has confirmed to BLABBERMOUTH.NET that DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul was uninjured in the shooting incident at a Columbus nightclub which resulted in the death of Paul's brother, Dimebag Darrell. According to Scoop, who attended the concert and briefly saw Vinnie following the incident, Paul was in a complete state of shock and expressed his desire to be with his brother right after the shooting occurred.

A friend of Scoop's, Kevin Minerd, who also attended the concert, told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the gunman entered the stage from the left side and walked over to the right side where Dimebag was standing before grabbing the guitarist and pumping several bullets into him. Additional shots were fired, although it's presently unclear which other member of DAMAGEPLAN, if any, was killed in the incident.

"A Columbus police officer, when he arrived, engaged the shooter, and the shooter is also dead, and if the officer hadn't acted when he did and how he did, we'd probably be looking at more dead, because this guy was actively shooting," Sergeant Brent Mull, public information officer, told MTV News.

"We have 200-plus patrons that we have sequestered inside three city buses," Sergeant Mull explained. "We are interviewing them one by one. The ones that were inside and witnessed this, ran for their lives and were in fear for their lives. They are victims too, and we want to take care of them."

As news of Dimebag's (born Darrell Lance Abbott in Dallas, Texas on August 20, 1966) bizarre and tragic demise rippled through the metal community, the news was met with shock and sadness.

"I'm speechless," friend and ROB ZOMBIE/OZZY OSBOURNE bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson told MTV. "This is totally unreal. Dimebag is a fucking legend and this is total bullshit."

"This is insane and this is beyond travesty," KILLSWITCH ENGAGE frontman, and former DAMAGEPLAN tour partner, Howard Jones said. "This is beyond anything I've ever heard. This shouldn't happen in or outside of the rock and metal community. He will be missed and mourned as a person, as a musician, and as a friend."

ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian, whose band has toured with PANTERA and has featured Dimebag guest appearances on their albums, stated in a posting on ANTHRAX's web site, "I am devastated as I'm sure we all are. All I can convey at this moment are my condolences to Rita and Vinnie and the whole family. My heart is with you."

MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx offered the following: "Dime, I will never forget all the times you made us laugh. I'm so happy we got to spend the day together in London recently… We should all live our lives as full as you have. I will miss you, as will all of us... This is a sad day."

Rich Ward (FOZZY, STUCK MOJO): "Darrell was as nice as they come. During the times that I spent with him, I wondered why he played in such a heavy band. Not that he didn't have the ability to school all of us that dared to share a stage with him, but because he seemed like such a gentle and kind man. He had a great sense of humor and was someone that everyone in the room gravitated toward. He never carried himself like the big rock star that he really was, instead he came across humble and appreciative. I consider it a privilege to have known him, as he was one of the 'real' guys in the business and as Zakk [Wylde] would say, 'one of the boys'!"

Shaun Glass (SOIL): "Today I am saddened to say I lost my friend and hero it sickens me that someone would take away a person that brought so much joy to so many people. Love ya, Double D."

Gunman Sought Out DIMEBAG, Shot Him Five Or Six Times At Close Range - Dec. 9, 2004

Cincinnati's WCPO-TV has issued the following update on the shooting that occurred at the DAMAGEPLAN concert in Columbus, Ohio:

A man opened fire in a crowded nightclub during a rock concert Wednesday night, killing at least four people and wounding at least two others before he was shot to death by police, authorities said.

A man walked on stage during the show at the Alrosa Villa and opened fire on band members, killing four people and wounding at least two others, said Columbus police spokesman Sgt. Brent Mull, adding that more people could have been shot and left the scene before authorities arrived.

Mull said a police officer shot and killed the gunman. It wasn't immediately clear whether the officer was already at the show or had responded to an emergency call.

Columbus resident Chris Couch, 22, said the shooting occurred about 30 seconds after the show's headliner, DAMAGEPLAN, had begun playing.

Couch, who was standing about 30 feet away from the stage, noticed a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and hockey jersey walk up to the stage, followed by a bouncer and another club employee.

The man in the jersey climbed onto the stage, started yelling and shot the guitarist five or six times at close range, Couch said.

Couch said the gunman also shot a bouncer who pulled him off the musician.

At that point, Couch and a friend headed for the exit along with a tide of hundreds of fans.

It appeared the gunman purposely sought out the guitarist, whom Couch identified as a performer who went by the name "Dimebag Darrell."

Authorities didn't immediately provide the identities of the victims.

"It was definitely a grudge. It was against something," Couch said.

Amanda Stankus, 19, who attended the show with Couch, said she initially thought the shooting was part of the show.

"I just saw the guitarist fall down, and we decided to get out of there," said Stankus, of Columbus.

Stankus said she didn't see any metal detectors or uniformed police officers at the venue and that she wasn't searched or frisked on her way in.

At least five people died and two others were wounded after a shooting at a Columbus, Ohio nightclub on Wednesday night.

Two members of the heavy metal band DAMAGEPLAN were reportedly shot and killed, including Dimebag Darrell, formerly with the band PANTERA, WCMH reported. The other bandmember's name was not released, but it . The alleged gunman also died at the scene, according to police.

Shortly after the band began playing its first song, a man reportedly ran onto the stage and began shooting, according to a witness who identified himself as Sean. Some members of the audience reportedly thought the man running onto the stage with a gun was part of the band's act, the television station reported.

Witnesses said that several shots were fired at the band. Witnesses said that a bouncer at the club tackled the alleged gunman before that person was shot and killed. It was unclear as to who shot the alleged gunman.

Alrosa Villa is a popular north Columbus nightspot for young adults, featuring rock and heavy metal bands, WCMH reported.

According to the band's Web site, DAMAGEPLAN was touring nationally. It performed in Buffalo, N.Y., on Tuesday night and had a concert scheduled in Flint, Mich., on Thursday.DAMAGEPLAN featured former PANTERA artists Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. The pair were joined by vocalist Patrick Lachman and bassist Bobzilla, according to their web site.

Livrete passará a ter a potência do motor


Os centros de inspecções de categoria B vão começar a sua actividade em breve. Terão capacidade para detectar alterações ilegais.

A partir do próximo mês vão ser inaugurados vários centros de inspecções de categoria B, estes estarão equipados com máquinas que podem detectar a potência dos motores dos automóveis, tendo por isso a capacidade de descobrir transformações ilegais.Até Fevereiro deverão estar a funcionar 50 destes centros, pelo que faseadamente vão poder responder à última exigência da Direcção-Geral de Viação: a indicação da potência dos motores no livrete. Esta medida entrará em vigor a partir de Janeiro.Os centros de inspecções de categoria B destinam-se a testar viaturas consideradas suspeitas pelas forças policiais ou DGV, veículos acidentados e viaturas importadas que aguardem atribuição de matrícula.

Sistema Inteligente de Visão Nocturna da Honda

A Honda Motor Co., Ltd. anunciou o desenvolvimento do primeiro Sistema Inteligente de Visão Nocturna, que utiliza câmaras"de infravermelhos de longo alcance" para detectar peões na trajectória do veículo ou que dela se aproximem, alertando o condutor através de indicações visuais e sonoras para ajudar a evitar acidentes com peões. Este novo sistema vai estar disponível no Honda Legend com lançamento agendado no Japão para o Outono de 2004.

O Sistema Inteligente de Visão Nocturna utiliza imagens captadas por duas câmara de infravermelhos de longo alcance, posicionadas na secção inferior do pára-choques dianteiro, para detectar a posição e o movimento de objectos emissores de calor por meio de raios infravermelhos e determinar se estão na trajectória do veículo ou a aproximar-se dela. Com base no tamanho e forma, o sistema também determina se o objecto detectado é um peão. Para além da função convencional de visão nocturna dar ao condutor uma melhor visão da estrada, este sistema é o primeiro a alertar o condutor para a presença de peões que estejam na estrada ou prestes a cruzar a trajectória do veículo.

A morte de peões constitui aproximadamente 30% de todas as mortes por acidentes de trânsito no Japão*. Como parte do seu esforço para atingir uma melhor compreensão da cinemática relativa aos acidentes com peões e para desenvolver tecnologias que os protejam, a Honda desenvolveu o primeiro manequim peão, o POLAR I em 1988. Depois, seguiu-se o POLAR II em 2000, que possui uma estrutura ainda mais semelhante a um ser humano, para além de mais pontos de medição. A Honda dá toda a prioridade ao desenvolvimento de novas tecnologias para a segurança dos peões. Como 70% de todas as mortes de peões ocorrem no período da noite, este Sistema Inteligente de Visão Nocturna trata um problema fundamental. Configuração do Sistema Inteligente de Visão Nocturna

- Câmara de infravermelhos de longo alcance
A câmara recolhe uma imagem visual com base na radiação "de infravermelhos a longa distância" emitida pelos ser humanos e por outros objectos. Como usa a radiação de infravermelhos a longa distância, é capaz de obter uma imagem visível sem utilizar uma fonte de luz, como é necessário pelas câmaras de luz visível ou de "infravermelhos a curta distância".

- "Head-up display"
A imagem é reflectida num espelho posicionado no topo do tablier, retractil durante o dia.

- Unidade electrónica detectora de peões
A Unidade electrónica determina a posição do peões e o movimento com base na imagem das câmaras, juntamente com a velocidade e outras informações do veículo. O sistema detecta os peões dentro da trajectória do veículo ou que dela se aproximem e alerta o condutor através de uma estrutura visual destacada à volta da imagem do peão e de um avisador sonoro.

- Sensores
Informações relativas ao estado dos faróis (ligados/desligados), limpa pára-brisas, relação de desvio de rumo, velocidade do veículo e temperatura ambiente.
